With the advent of increased construction activities, there’s a need to develop a reliable and efficient approach for measuring objects and its material estimation without the need for a surveyor. Traditionally, it has been carried out by surveyors who use measuring tapes and other tools to determine the dimensions of a Door/Window. However, this method can be time consuming and prone to errors, leading to inaccurate material estimates and cost overruns. This study aims to develop a methodology for accurate and efficient approach for measuring object using image processing and computer vision techniques. This study discusses various techniques such as image capturing, edge detection, thresholding, and segmentation for detecting and measuring object parameters in image. The validation of the proposed methodology through a comparison with the measurements conducted by a surveyor is a critical step in ensuring its accuracy and reliability. The fact that the study will be economical and efficient in industrial and business activities. The project comprises of four stages: ▪ The object will be identified and classified from images. ▪ The size and dimensions of region of interest will be computed. ▪ The required material and resources will be estimated in terms of hardware and cost. ▪ Draft invoice will be generated.
